Our Town Hall

The Grade 1 listed Town Hall is an iconic landmark at the heart of Manchester. Since opening in 1877, the building is starting to show wear and tear from its age. ‘Our Town Hall’ is a major update to the architectural masterpiece created by the Manchester City Council to protect and improve it for the town. It will be restored and re-opened in 2024. As per Manchester City Council’s statement: ‘We call this project ‘Our Town Hall’ because it really belongs to the people of Manchester.’

McCrory Construction is responsible for the major structural interventions package which includes:

• All structural demolition works
• The formation of any new penetrations
• Builders work openings through structural and non-structural substrates
• The reinstatement of existing walls
• Creation of new wall, beams, columns, slabs and risers
• The removal or protection of Heritage assets
• The removal and repair to mosaic floors and decorative masonry stonework
