A Landmark Achievement for a Young Business
McCrory Construction is proud to announce that we have been named North West Fastest Growing Medium Business at the Ward Hadaway North West Fastest 50 Awards 2026.
The prestigious awards celebrate the region’s fastest-growing businesses based on sustained financial performance, recognising the organisations that are driving economic growth, creating jobs and shaping the future of business across the North West.
To make the achievement even more special, McCrory Construction was also recognised as the 3rd Fastest Growing Business Overall, competing against businesses of every size across the region.
For a business that is still relatively young, it marks a significant milestone in our journey and one that everyone at McCrory is incredibly proud of.
From Ambitious Beginnings to Regional Recognition
Growth on this scale doesn’t happen overnight.
Since launching McCrory Construction, our ambition has always been clear: to build a business recognised not only for the quality of its work, but for the relationships it creates, the people it invests in and the trust it earns from clients.
Over the last few years, that ambition has become reality.
The business has grown from delivering specialist construction packages to taking on increasingly complex, high profile projects across the UK, establishing itself as a trusted delivery partner for many of the country’s leading contractors and developers.
Every project has helped build the foundations for the next opportunity, allowing the company to expand its capabilities while maintaining the values that have been at the heart of McCrory from day one.
Building Momentum on Landmark Projects
Our journey has been shaped by some of the North West’s most significant construction projects.
One of the defining moments came with our appointment to the restoration of Manchester Town Hall, working alongside Bovis on one of the UK’s most prestigious heritage refurbishment projects. Delivering works on a Grade I listed building of such importance demonstrated our ability to work within complex, highly regulated environments while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
That success led to further opportunities, including major packages at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 Transformation Programme, where we worked with Mace to help deliver one of the largest airport infrastructure projects currently underway in the UK.
Projects like these didn’t just strengthen our portfolio. They strengthened our reputation.
Each successful delivery built confidence with clients, opened new doors and reinforced McCrory Construction’s ability to deliver challenging projects safely, collaboratively and to the highest standard.
Growing Into a Principal Contractor
As the business has evolved, so too has the scale of the opportunities we deliver.
Today, McCrory Construction is operating as a Principal Contractor in its own right, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of increasingly complex schemes from start to finish.
A prime example is our current project at KP Snacks in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, where we are delivering a major extension to the factory, managing a significant programme of works while maintaining operations within a live manufacturing environment.
It represents another important milestone in the company’s growth and demonstrates the confidence clients have in McCrory Construction to successfully lead major construction projects.
From specialist contractor to Principal Contractor, the business continues to evolve while remaining focused on delivering quality, building strong partnerships and exceeding client expectations.
Built on People and Partnerships
While projects tell part of the story, they don’t tell the whole story.
This achievement belongs to every member of the McCrory team.
From site managers, engineers and operatives to commercial teams, project managers and office staff, every individual has played a part in the company’s growth.
Equally important are the relationships built with clients, consultants and supply chain partners. Their continued trust has allowed the business to grow sustainably and secure opportunities that continue to push the company forward.
It is these long-term partnerships, alongside a commitment to quality and collaboration, that have created the platform for continued success.
A Word from Chris Fish
Chris Fish, Operations Director at McCrory, said:
“Winning this award is a fantastic achievement for everyone connected with McCrory Construction. When the business was established, we had a clear vision of the company we wanted to become, but none of this would have been possible without the solid reputational foundation built over 30 years by everybody who has worked at McCrory Brickwork. In addition to the incredible people we have throughout the business and the trust our clients continue to place in us.
We’ve been fortunate to work on some outstanding projects over the past few years, from Manchester Town Hall and Manchester Airport to the major schemes we’re delivering today as a Principal Contractor. Every project has helped us grow, learn and strengthen our reputation. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re just as excited about where we’re heading next.“
Looking Ahead
Being named the North West’s Fastest Growing Medium Business is an achievement everyone at McCrory Construction is immensely proud of, but it is far from the finish line.
The business continues to expand its geographical footprint, build relationships with new clients and deliver projects across an increasingly diverse range of sectors.
As McCrory Construction looks to the future, our focus remains unchanged: delivering exceptional projects, investing in our people and continuing to build a business that clients, partners and employees are proud to be part of.
To everyone who has contributed to this journey so far, thank you.
This award recognises where we’ve come from. The next chapter is about where we’re going.
